Association of India
(rai) introduces the 18 month PGPRM certified
by rai. In first semester, you will be
given an introduction to the retail industry.
The practical operations of retail outlet
are studied, developing your operational
knowledge. You will also be introduced
to the complexities involved in managing
a large-scale retail business. As you
progress you will be provided insight
into how retail formats enable the store
or mall at as differentiators, creating
a unique identity. You will develop an
understanding of the logistics involved
in getting products to consumers and the
importance of retail buyers in this process.
Retail
is a truly international industry and
in your final semester you will develop
an understanding of international retailing
and the marketing challenges faced by
organizations operating on a global platform.
This knowledge combined with the awareness
and skills you will develop in measuring
performance, the role of branding, pricing
strategy, quality control and consumer
behavior is aimed to ensure that you can
become an effective retail manager
Professional
Training
You will be
undertaking a six month professional training
with leading retailer and take advantage
of excellent opportunities at companies
who are rai members.
Careers
There are
many career opportunities open to graduates
of this programme. Employment in retail
management can include anything from running
a small department or store to a multi-million
pound turnover hypermarket. Careers in
the supply chain involve procuring raw
materials and finished goods, warehouse
management and the complex organization
of product distribution both at home and
abroad. You could be responsible for a
brand’s profitability and long term
viability. Other options include sales,
marketing research, human resources ,finance,
and information technology.

Requirements
The candidates seeking admission to PGPRM
should have passed (or) appeared for a
Bachelor’s Degree Examination of
not less than 3 years duration from any
recognized University or equivalent thereof.
